Excursions Starting From Damascus   Excursions Maalula Barada Valley Shahba & Sweida Bosra & Izraa Crac Chevaliers If you have decided to extend your stay in the capital to make more one-day excursions, one of them should be to the mainly Christian villages of the Anti-Lebanon mountains (Yabroud, Maaloula, Seydnaya), and the other to the Hauran Region to visit Shahba (Philippopolis), Sweida (Dyonisio) and Bosra (Bostra). But other itineraries may also be considered if your interest is archeology (Temple of Dmeir), the rustic countryside near the Barada valley, or the coolness of high altitude resorts at (Zabadani and Bloudane) when the city gets too warm. The beautiful temple of Dmeir may, however be visited on your way to Palmyra, provided you go by private car or taxi-cab.     Previous - Next
